Information About Big
Powderhorn Mountain

"Information." A boring
word, we know, but while we have alot to talk about, we'll just
hit the high points here. Obviously Big Powderhorn has snow and
chairlifts. What ski area doesn't? After all, that's why we're
called ski areas. What sets Big Powderhorn apart? Well, we believe
that a memorable winter vacation means different things to different
people.

Big Powderhorn is located on
the western tip of Michigan's majestic Upper Peninsula, between
Ironwood and Bessemer, Michigan, 2 miles off U.S. 2. |

THE BASICS
- Trails: 25 (35% novice,
35% more difficult, 30% most difficult)
- Terrain Park, accessible
by chairs 3 & 4
- Total Skiable Terrain:
250 acres
- Longest Run: 1 mile
- Lifts: 9 Double chairs
and a beginner hand tow
- Uphill capacity:
10,800 skiers per hour
- Snowmaking: 90% of
terrain
SKIING HOURS
- 9am-4pm daily (Christmas
Day 10am-4pm)
GOOD GRUB
- Main Lodge Cafeteria
8am-4pm (serving breakfast, lunch, snacks)
- Alpen Tavern &
Grill, on Flintlock Trail 11am-10pm (serving lunch and dinner)
- Caribou Lodge 11am-9pm
(serving lunch & dinner). Closed Tuesdays.

DAY CARE

through Kinderschool for ages 2-6.
OFF THE SLOPES
- Ice skating rink
(lighted but bring your own skates), horse-drawn sleigh rides
nearby, swimming pool and sauna, and 17km cross country trails
with access at the top of our mountain.
NIGHT LIFE
- Caribou Lodge live
music on most weekends at 9pm.
